Abstract

A novel technique of measuring pulp suspension flow velocity (PSFV) is put forward, which use not flow sensor but consistency sensor. Utilizing the Doppler-effect that PSFV causes an effect upon the signal of pulp fiber consistency (PFC), PSFV can be determined carrying out time-frequency analysis (such as short time power spectrum (STPS) or wavelet transform (WT) to the noise of PFC signal on the basis of PFC measurement. The corresponding tests show that this measurement method is feasible with high precision.
