Abstract
Traditionally, gas electron multipliers (GEMs) have been powered by a resistor divider chain toprotect the elements against accidental power supply failure. We present a new, low cost methodfor individually biasing the GEMs in a multi-GEM stack. The use of isolated DC to DC Converters(DCCs) allows for independent control and monitoring of all GEM high-voltage surfaces withoutcompromising the safety of the GEMs.
