Abstract

The determination of reactor fuel burnup used to be performed by post irradiation analysis. It obviously results in the delay of fuel burnup information and then the economical significance of the burnup data is restricted. A new burnup monitoring method which can be used as an on-line fuel burnup surveillance technique during reactor operation is presented in this paper. The experimental process and results obtained on HFETR of China (high flux engineering test reactor) are given.
