Abstract
This technic is an adaptation of the use of the Murphy button, similar to its use in enterostomy, as suggested by Dr. William D. Johnson of Batavia, N. Y. As will be noted, one half of the Murphy button is inserted into the end of a large rubber tube, the rubber end surrounding the button closely about its shank, just as the end of an intestine would be made to surround it by the purse-string in end-to-end anastomosis. The other half of the button, surrounded down to its shank by a soft rubber ring, if desired, so that it will not cut through too quickly, is placed inside the bladder through a small slit.
