Abstract
AbstractA short and novel synthetic route toward pyrrolo‐3‐sulfolene and its N‐mesyl derivative, precursors for the corresponding pyrrolo o‐quinodimethanes, has been developed. The synthesis involves ultrasonic zincation of 4‐bromo‐3‐chloro‐2‐sulfolene and an N‐protected 2‐aminoaldehyde, intramolecular conjugate addition, dehydration and isomerization.
