Abstract

This paper presents a new imaging method for linear array SAR (LASAR) based on multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. Limited by the length of linear array antenna in practice, LASAR has a much lower resolution in cross-track (CT) direction than the resolution in range and along-track (AT) direction. Besides, to traditional matched filter (MF) method, restricted by the Rayleigh limit, the resolution of along-track direction is difficult to rise. To overcome these limitations, this paper applies 2D-MUSIC algorithm in cross track direction and along-track direction instead of traditional matched filter method. According to the new imaging method based on 2D-MUSIC algorithm, imaging result of high resolution can be recovered from the noisy scene. Under the same system parameters, compared with traditional method, the presented new imaging method can greatly improve imaging resolution and suppress the side-lobe for LASAR 3D imaging in cross-track direction and along-track direction. The simulated results confirm the validity of the method and show that it can improve the imaging quality.
