Abstract

On May 2, 1942, 700 trematodes were collected by the second author near Kemah, Texas, from the intestine of a single adult Pectoral Sandpiper, Erolia melanotos. There were no observable pathogenic effects due to the infection. Most of the trematodes were flattened, fixed in Bouin's fluid, stained with carmalum, cleared in cedar oil, and mounted in balsam, but 2 specimens were serially sectioned. Thirty-six whole mounts were studied thoroughly, although the measurements given below are based on only 10 whole mounts and the serial sections. Measurements in parentheses are averages from 10 specimens. All measurements are in millimeters.
