Abstract

A synopsis of and key to the 10 species of Dalechampia that occur in Costa Rica are provided. Dalechampia osana is described as a new species from the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, where it appears to be endemic. It is very similar to D. shankii (A. Molina) Huft, but differs from that species in having pseudanthial inflorescences with fewer staminate flowers, only 3 fertile pleiochasial arms, and a resin gland. The section, Tiliifoliae, represented by one species in Costa Rica, is described as new.
