Abstract

Thyrostroma eucalypti sp. nov. has been found associated with stem cankers and dieback of several dry sclerophyll woodland eucalypt species in pastoral areas of south east Australia. The fungus is characterized by acervular or pulvinate sporodochial conidiomata, branched, septate, percurrently, proliferating conidiophores and holoblastic, pigmented, euseptate, muriform conidia.
