Abstract

A new species of Euphorbia subg. Euphorbia sect. Euphorbia is described as new to science. Euphorbia elburensis sp. nov. is endemic to central Somalia and only known from the El‐Buur area. This species belongs to a morphological group characteristic of the Horn of Africa, with tiny (2–4 mm diam.) deeply lobed capsules, well exserted on recurved pedicels, containing ovoid densely tuberculate seeds.
