Abstract

Amphinemura himberii n. sp., first known fossil species of the nemourid subfamily Amphinemurinae, is described from the Miocene Zhangpu amber of (Fujian Province, southeastern China). The new taxon is mainly characterized by male genital, e.g., vesicle reaching two-third of hypoproct; cerci rounded at apex; hypoproct not reaching level of apices of paraprocts, paraproct without spines, with inner lobe straight, thin and sharp, median lobe enlarged with strong apical setae, and outer lobe thin; cerci short. This discovery is not surprising since the extant genus Amphinemura is currently quite diverse in China.
