Abstract

Summary. Stelechantha arcuata is a new and critically endangered, lowland and submontane species from South and South West Cameroon. The main combination of characters separating it from the other three species of Stelechantha are leaves with arching intramarginal veins, lanceolate stipules and minutely puberulous ramiflorous inflorescences. An illustration of S. arcuata, and a key to all the species is included. The relationship between Stelechantha Bremek. and Commitheca Bremek. is discussed.
