Abstract

Abstract Manihot baccata is described from the Brazilian Amazon. The species belongs to a unique and select group of species characterized by compound leaves and/or indehiscent fruits. The new species shows a wide range occurring in both eastern and western Amazonia in addition to French Guiana. The richness of collected materials made possible the recognition of two varieties.
