Abstract
Collections by the author and fellow collectors participating in one of the grandes excursdes of the Projeto Chapada Diamantina, made on and around the poorly known Pico do Itobira (1800 min), Mun. Rio de Contas, yielded many interesting new records in the Compositae for Bahia State. One such is a new sericeous-leaved species of Lychnophora Mart., a genus characteristic of the campos rupestres of the Chapada Diamantina.
