Hyalella (Hyalella) meraspinosa n. sp. is described from Ash Springs in Lincoln County, Nevada. This species is morphologically similar to Hyalella (Hyalella) sandra and Hyalella (Hyalella) longicornis but the anterior margins of the merus of pereopods 3 and 4 are lined with bifurcate spines, the basis of pereopod 7 is not expanded, the ramus of uropod 3 is vestigial and the telson is quadrate with two short submarginal spines. A key to the species of Hyalella (Hyalella) from North America and the Caribbean is provided.
