Abstract

ABSTRACT The sixth species of Gonyleptellus is described from the mountains of Nova Friburgo in Rio de Janeiro State, south-eastern Brazil. Gonyleptellus camelopardalis sp. nov. more closely resembles G. pustulatus and G. angeloi due to the proapical apophysis curved backwards with a secondary branch, and more specifically the latter because of the reduced vamp on the retroapical apophysis. It can be distinguished from all other species of Gonyleptellus by the absence of tiles on area I, the restricted and low number of tiles on area II and the sinusoid retrolateral row of spines on femur IV. An updated key to the known species of the genus is presented. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:35CD5883-6AFF-4A6E-BF98-959DE0733BCF
