Abstract

A new species of freshwater triclad, Romankenkius libidinosus sp. nov., is described from New South Wales, Australia. The species is characterized by a large adenodactyl and unique genito-intestinal connections, and represents the first record of the genus Romankenkius outside Tasmania. The taxonomic and phylogenetic implications of several morphological features of the new species are discussed in the light of a previous phylogenetic study.
