Abstract

Here we describe a new species of the genus Ensayara associated with the sponge Ircinia felix (Duchassaing and Michelloti, 1864). The specimens of Ensayara lozanoi n. sp., were collected from the Veracruz Coral Reef System National Park, southwestern Gulf of Mexico, at a depth of 10 m. The new species differs from Ensayara entrichoma Gable and Lazo-Wasem, 1990 and Ensayara jumane Barnard and Thomas, 1990 in several aspects of the lateral cephalic lobe, mandibular palp, maxilliped, antenna 1, and coxae 3 and 4.
