Abstract
During recent field work the following new species of Corchorus was collected in S Ethiopia. After having recently written an account of the genus for the Flora of Ethiopia, I immediately realized that this was a new record for the Flora. Subsequent studies in the herbarium and library at Kew have convinced me that the plant cannot be matched with any previously described species. During examination of E African material a second collection of what is clearly the same species was found amongst unnamed material from Tanzania.
