Abstract

The new species Chamaesyce eleano- riae is described and illustrated, and its affinities are discussed. It is restricted to the steep slopes and cliffs of northern Kaua'i, the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. Chamaesyce eleanoriae is closely related to the Kaua'i endemic C. sparsflora, from which it differs by its consistently present white, glandular cyathial appendages.
