Abstract
This article presents a new transformer-less grid inverter. The proposed topology can produce seven-level output voltage waveform using six power electronic switches and two power diodes. In addition, the recommended topology can limit the amplitude of leakage current in the photovoltaic (PV) systems, which is the major problem in grid-connected PV applications. The proposed inverted has some other benefits, such as voltage boosting capability, reactive power supporting, controlling both active and reactive power flows, reduced output filter size and lower total harmonic distortion of the injected current to the grid. Finally, the accurate performance of the recommended grid-tied structure is proved by the 620–1000 W laboratory prototype.
