Abstract

A new sesquiterpene derivative, ethyl hydroheptelidate (1), was isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Trichoderma harzianum R1. Its structure was elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses. This compound showed high antifungal activity against two plant pathogenic fungi, Fusarium oxysporum and Colletotrichum musae, and moderate to weak antibacterial activity against three types of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli: O8, O78, and O101.
