Abstract

Costas arrays are used for constructing frequency sets for the frequency shift keying waveforms in low probability of intercept radars. Costas arrays are constructed mostly using the methods based on the finite field theory or they are found by exhaustive search. Whether a permutation matrix is a Costas array or not can be decided by using a difference triangle. In this work, the difference triangle approach is analyzed and a new method is proposed for the search of Costas arrays.
