Abstract

A new schematic design of power plant for achieving higher efficiency is proposed. Here, STG(Steam Turbine Generator) and GTG(Gas Turbine Generator) based power plant are taken into account. In case of STG based power plant, net output power and efficiency(%) are calculated for different values of different parameters such that flow rate, water pressure inlet to boiler, isentropic efficiency of pump and temperature of steam. On the other hand, in case of GTG based power plant net output power and efficiency (%) a r e also measured for different parameters like temperature of air inlet to compressor, temperature of combusted air, mass flow rate. Here, a comparison of performance is observed by simulating the design layout with Heat Exchanger (HE) and without Heat Exchanger(HE). Without Heat exchanger average value of net power is 86.7MW and efficiency is 12.86%. On the other hand with Heat Exchanger a v e r a g e value of net power is 84.45MW and efficiency is 51.71%.
