Abstract

Monodispersed spherical copper particles were synthesized by reacting aqueous dispersions of Cu2O with ferrous citrate in the absence of dispersion agent. Two kinds of Cu2O were chosen as raw materials to investigate the property of copper particles with the structure of Cu2O. It was found that copper particles size and its distribution were closely related to the property of Cu2O, especially the uniformity of Cu2O. Copper particles with 0.5μm in size on average with a narrow size distribution were obtained by reducing as-prepared Cu2O with ferrous citrate. It is an effective route to prepare copper powders in an environmentally responsible manner for electronic applications.
