Abstract

We surveyed for the critically endangered central rock-rat (Zyzomys pedunculatus) near Mt Edward, 70 km west of the nearest known extant population in the Northern Territory. We successfully recorded the species in rugged mountain habitat using baited camera traps and from remains recovered from cat scats collected in the area.
