Abstract
This paper discusses the basis of a polarized headlight system proposed for introduction in Sweden. Earlier work is reviewed briefly. Proposals for introducing the system are given and related to the relevant experimental studies; the equipment needed and its use in various traffic situations are described. Methods for overcoming problems inevitable in the transition period are outlined and the further researches necessary are listed.
