Abstract

Short intense UV-pulses have proved to be usefully applicable in nonlinear optics, solid state physics, biophysical studies and photochemistry (1—3). Due to their unique abilities of large gain bandwidth and high output energy excimer lasers have been recognized very early as attractive candidates for generation and amplification of ultrashort light pulses with gigawatt peakpower.
