Abstract
Based on a statistical distributive law of phase information in speech signals, a new phase coding method is proposed, which is used to reduce the bit-rate of phase coding from 45 bits per frame to 24 bits per frame. The approach is applied to a low bit-rate speech coding system. Computer simulation shows that the approach is successful. Also the intelligibility and naturalness of synthesized speech are satisfactory.
