Abstract
Abstract Hybridization coupled bands of lozalized and itinerant states can produce pairing by double hybridization. The mechanism is illustrated for a periodic Anderson model. The effective Hamiltonian generated in a second order Schrieffer-Wolff transformation contains an exchange interaction which reduces the intra-atomic Coulomb repulsion and favours pairing.
