Abstract

The layout of subsea production system is a key issue in the development of deepwater oil and gas fields. In this paper, we developed a new algorithm to optimize the layout of a subsea production system to reduce facility costs. The new algorithm utilized a complex iterative structure based on an unsupervised learning method and clustering algorithm to continuously adjust the optimization problems. We carried out the collaborative optimization by considering the layout scenarios of cluster manifolds, wellhead grouping, and connection relationship between manifolds to achieve better optimization design results. On the basis of the new algorithm proposed in this paper, we took some deepwater oil fields with different wells as an example for case analysis and compared the results with those of the scheme without considering various optimization aspects. The results verified that the new model effectively reduced the subsea development costs.
