Abstract
An undescribed ophiostomatoid fungus was isolated from the scolytid beetle Xyleborus dryographus in south-west Germany. The fungus is described as Ophiostoma verrucosum sp. nov. with a Hyalorhinocladiella anamorph. The teleomorph is characterized by thick-sheathed ascospores, numerous divergent ostiolar hyphae and an ornamented perithecial base.
