Abstract

A new numerical method for the eigenvalue problem of electromagnetic cavity based on the theory of vector partial differential operator is presented. The results show that there is no 'spurious modes'. The eigenvalue of the cavity for the lowest 20 modes are obtained without any forced penalty factor. Comparison to the traditional method shows that the present method can save a lot of computer time as well as with higher accuracy.
