Abstract

Recent developments seem to point to a new direction of progress in mathematics teaching: towards a naturalistic, applicative style based on the idea of the projective application of mathematics to simplified innovative proposals and hypotheses. The main questions which are often asked of the new approach are discussed. In this kind of applicability genuine? Is it not merely a device to teach mathematics? How does it work out in practice?.
