Abstract

The vast majority of researchers are proponents of the hypothesis of the formation of Homo sapiens in Africa and its subsequent spread throughout the world. The authors of this paper suggest a new model of the origin of anatomically modern humans. It is based on the latest paleogenetic and anthropological findings in the Russian Altai, in particular, the archaeological materials from the Denisova Cave. Scientific innovations associated with the discoveries in the Denisova Cave have aroused interest in scientists of related fields of knowledge, who took part in the discussion of the paper, which Academician A.P. Derevyanko presented at an RAS Presidium meeting.
