Abstract

A new microscopic traffic model for one-lane traffic flow, based on some Cellular Automation (CA) conceptions such as acceleration, deceleration, randomization deceleration, and movement, is presented in this paper. Though NaSch Model and other improvement models, as KKW model, VDR model, had described traffic flow trajectory, more real impacts should be mentioned to depict the trajectory more precisely. Without accurate information about vehicles location and velocity, the parameters as volume, density cannot be obtained. Thus, traditional CA models can analyze some macroscopic traffic phenomena, as synchronized flow for example, but it results in the lack of microscopic traffic flow analysis since some traffic flow characteristic are not included in models. Some real conditions of vehicles and drivers, such as vehicle acceleration and drivers reflection to prior vehicles, are considered in this model which does not exist in CA models. The spatial-time trajectory is used to analyze traffic flow characteristic and traffic situations in numeral experiments. The results show that the new model can depict traffic moving more precisely and can be used to analyze traffic flow quantitatively.
