Abstract

What we call a lymphoscintigram is a simple and noninvasive examination designed to help us see the regional lymph nodes of a prospective cancer patient. In order to achieve the best possible localization of the lymph nodes in esophageal carcinoma, we have superimposed the lymphoscintigram image on the patient’s chest roentgenogram. With such a superimposed image, we try to diagnose the spread of the esophageal carcinoma to the regional lymph nodes and to evaluate the correlation between the visualized regions and the suspected existence of lymph node metastases.
