Abstract

Results of experimental studies of the process of turning of caprolon with the use of cutting fluid (lubricant and coolant) are presented. The use of an aqueous emulsion with the addition of water repellent in turning of caprolon is scientifically evaluated. On this basis a new method of turning of caprolon blanks is developed and patented. A reduction in the parameters of water absorption by caprolon in the course of turning with the delivery of a aqueous emulsion of potassium palmitate into the cutting zone is experimentally established. Note that turning of caprolon by the traditional method leads to activation of the process of water absorption. Turning accompanied by the delivery of an emulsion of potassion palmitate into the cutting zone produces a surface of the part that is better machined by comparison with the traditional method of turning.
