Abstract
A tap-changing scheme is proposed which is very effective for reducing the harmonic current without losing the advantages of the conventional thyristor circuit. The operating principle in the case of three taps, the optimal tap ratio, and tap-changing angle are discussed; the scheme is applied to a single-phase diode rectifier circuit
