Abstract

Abstract A new method for the preparation of carbon-coated copper grids for standard electron microscope applications is described. It is relatively simpler, faster, more efficient and less expensive than traditional procedures, and is particularly suited for quantity output. Mica sheets are used for the preliminary substrates. A specially designed grid holder and lifter which can recover 35 grids in one movement is used. Dimensional sketches of the grid holder and lifter are given.
