Abstract

Parameter Evolving Common Reflection Point (CRP) is based on ellipse evolving CRP. It introduces two parameters (average velocity and velocity ratio of up-going wave velocity and down-going wave velocity) what reveal transverse changes of velocity to optimize ellipse evolving CRP. By theoretical model, the parameter evolving CRP velocity analysis more accurately estimates CRP stack velocity. The method also detects interval velocity anomalies more clearly. It is a valuable method of reservoir prediction and oil and gas detection.
