Abstract

A new method is proposed to estimate the superconducting volume fraction in a high-Tc oxide superconductor. It is based on mixed-state magnetization and calculated from the reversible portion of the magnetization curve in a high field range. The method is inherently free from the Meissner fraction ambiguity; therefore, it is more appropriate for the evaluation of high-Tc oxide than the conventional methods based on perfect diamagnetism.
