Abstract

We describe a new method for quick preparation of larger-size crystals of calcium hypochlorite dihydrate (CHD), where two-step crystallization is employed to grow the crystals. In the first step, cylindrical crystals with a new shape are obtained by c-axis growth in the presence of habit modifiers, and in the second step, a small number of cylindrical crystals introduced as seed crystals grow in the directions of the a, b axes, and larger crystals of CHD are obtained
