Abstract

HMFI/SiC composites show considerable potential for applications in heterogeneous catalysis due to the combination of the high catalytic performance of HMFI zeolites and the high thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, high-temperature resistance, and good chemical stability of SiC. Herein, we report for the first time the fast synthesis of HMFI/SiC composites directly in proton form under microwave irradiation without the addition of seed crystals. The preferable conditions for producing HMFI/SiC directly in proton form are 3 h at 190–200 °C. The structure and properties of the synthesized HMFI/SiC were determined by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, low-temperature adsorption-desorption of nitrogen and temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia.
