Abstract

The milliprobe technique has expanded the number of potential applications of Mossbauer spectroscopy, including the study of single crystals. Recent work has reported determination of the electric field gradient and mean-squared displacement tensors in hedenbergite, a member of the pyroxene mineral group. Results are used to assess Mossbauer data collected from clinopyroxene single crystals that occur as inclusions in diamond.
