Abstract

A new method for continuous recording of the hydrogen content of atmospheric air is described. The method is based on reduction of mercuric oxide and the determination of the resulting mercury vapor by absorption in the 2537-A line. The standard error of the calibration for 0.5 ppm H2 is 3%. The limit of detection is 0.01 ppm. Preliminary results are discussed.
