Abstract

A new method for wireless measurement of resistance current of oxide lightning arresters is presented. In the transmit device the phase signal of high voltage transmission lines is collected and sent to the receive device in wireless mode. In the receive device the phase signal of high voltage transmission lines is demodulated and compared with the phase of total current of lightning arresters collected by the receive device. Then, phase differences between high voltage transmission lines and total current of lightning arresters are achieved. Finally, the value of resistance current of lightning arresters is calculated. This method results in safer and more convenient measurement of performance of lightning arresters
