Abstract
Abstract This paper presents a new method for fault analysis of six-phase power systems. This method is based on utilizing a real transformation in analyzing these faults. The main feature of this method is that it results in simpler expressions for the fault currents for such faults and, therefore, it can be implemented easily on digital computers to handle fault analysis of large power systems. A fault analysis algorithm, suitable for digital computer implementation, that uses the proposed method is described. Results from faults on a sample power system are also included.
