Abstract
1. 1. A new indicator method for estimating digestive efficiency of crustaceans is described. 2. 2. The technique is based on the differential rates of assimilation of soluble and insoluble sugars by the animals. 3. 3. The change in the ratio soluble/insoluble sugars in the food compared with that in the faecal pellets is used as an estimate of digestive efficiency.
