Abstract

In this paper, a new fatigue limit determination method based on the thermographic data is proposed to overcome the limit of Risitano and Luong’s method. The maximum stress corresponding to peak value of the angle change normalized by its amplitude is defined as the fatigue limit. The method was evaluated by the experimental data of Multidirectional (MD) CFRP laminates in this study, and by the data found in the literature for different materials. The analyze of the results from different methods demonstrated that this method can effectively apply to determine the fatigue limit of composite laminates whatever their stacking sequence is.
